Ronald “Trey” Schweigert

Trey’s joyful and charismatic spirit brought endless love, laughter, and light to everyone who knew him. He lived each day to the fullest, kind, caring, and witty, and was beautiful inside and out. His family and friends meant the world to him, and he worked to make the world a better place through love, inspiration, and kindness.

At just 27 years old, Trey’s life was stolen after unknowingly ingesting a fake Percocet while recovering from surgery. Although he was under medical care, he was not treated for his pain. Desperate for relief, he reached out to an acquaintance he thought he could trust. That person gave him a counterfeit pill that contained fentanyl. Trey went to sleep and never woke up. Law enforcement traced the source, and the supplier was convicted of Controlled Substance Homicide in Washington State.

Trey’s death was not an accident. It was a homicide caused by deception. The fentanyl crisis is devastating families across the nation, and we continue to fight for truth and justice so that these deaths are recognized for what they are. Crimes, not accidents.
